T2GO

Group project with Matthew O'Hagan and Jordan Isteed-Haig.

FINAL DESIGN

With the T2 GO disposable cup lid, we set out to make tea a more viable takeaway order options from cafés. Traditionally, tea has never favoured a takeaway option because the tea needs time to brew, which is done in the café. With T2 GO, the customer can now brew their tea inside of a takeaway cup, as well as being able to bruise the tea bag and store it in the lid of the cup afterward. Using a two-lid system, all of these options are easy for the barista and intuitive for the customer, making T2GO a revolutionary step for on-the-go tea drinking.

The idea for the T2GO cup lid was conceptualised through scenario observations.  By evaluating the experience when ordering tea, we found that it was a hassle for tea drinkers to wait for the tea to brew while in the shop. T2GO aimed to offer a solution to this which allows the customer to take their tea away while still waiting for it to brew.

The concept was first modeled in Fusion 360 and then 3D printed as molds to then be vacuumed formed over. Vacuum forming was chosen as the fabrication process for the final concept as it closely resembles the traditional takeaway cup lid.
